"The hope of the China-U.S. relationship lies in the people, and its foundation is in our societies," Xie stated, describing cultural engagement as "a bridge to connect hearts and foster friendship." He cited recent successes including the Philadelphia Orchestra's 15th China tour in October 2025 and the box office performance of Chinese animated film "Ne Zha 2" in North America.
New travel facilitation measures were announced, including a 240-hour visa-free transit policy for U.S. citizens. Social media trends like #BecomingChinese, showcasing Americans adopting Chinese cultural practices, were highlighted as evidence of growing grassroots connections.
Looking ahead, Xie expressed Beijing's willingness to collaborate with Washington on strengthening cultural diplomacy, aiming to create "steady, sound and sustainable development of bilateral relations."
