China Unveils 2026 Spring Festival Cultural Extravaganza

The China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum has launched its flagship "Celebrating the New Year – 2026 Spring Festival Exhibition," offering visitors a 2,600-square-meter journey through one of Asia's most cherished traditions. Opened this week in sync with lunar calendar preparations, the immersive display combines ancient customs with modern curation techniques.

Four thematic zones guide attendees through time-honored practices: The Traditional Lunisolar Calendar section explains the astronomical foundations of festival dates, while Zodiac Culture highlights this year's symbolic animal – the Snake. Interactive displays in the Reverence for Grain area showcase agricultural rituals, and the Lantern Customs gallery features illuminated installations from multiple Chinese provinces.

"This exhibition bridges generations," museum director Li Wei told KhabarAsia. "Visitors can trace how Spring Festival traditions evolved while seeing their contemporary relevance in 2026." Early attendee Yang Yan reported vibrant crowds experiencing calligraphy workshops, dough figurine crafting, and regional folk music performances.
