China Unveils New Military Theory Regulations to Boost Modernization

Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his capacity as chairman of the Central Military Commission, has authorized new regulations aimed at accelerating military theory modernization. The framework, effective March 1 this year, establishes standardized processes for research, evaluation, and application of military theoretical achievements.

Strategic Focus on Innovation

The seven-chapter document introduces measures to optimize military theory innovation systems, including standardized management protocols and clear guidelines for developing strategic roadmaps. It emphasizes retrospective assessments of theoretical projects and enhanced sharing of research outcomes across defense institutions.

Timeline and Implementation

With 52 articles spanning development planning to recognition mechanisms, the regulations aim to strengthen China's defense capabilities through systematic theoretical advancement. The March 1 implementation date allows military academies and research centers two months to prepare operational adjustments.

The announcement follows last September's high-profile military parade in Beijing, where President Xi reviewed troops along Changan Avenue near Tiananmen Square.
