China, Pakistan Strengthen Ties on 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

China's top political advisor Wang Huning met with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly, in Beijing this week to reaffirm bilateral commitments as the two nations celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. The meeting underscores ongoing efforts to deepen their all-weather strategic partnership amid evolving regional dynamics.

Wang, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), emphasized China's commitment to implementing leadership-level consensus and expanding practical cooperation across sectors. "We aim to accelerate the construction of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in this new era," he stated during Tuesday's talks.

Sadiq reiterated Pakistan's adherence to the one-China principle and support for Beijing's global initiatives, pledging enhanced collaboration in trade, infrastructure development under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and security for Chinese projects in Pakistan. The National Assembly leader described China-Pakistan friendship as "ironclad," vowing continued parliamentary support for bilateral cooperation.

The dialogue comes as both countries seek to align development strategies and address shared challenges, with Wang noting the CPPCC's role in facilitating people-to-people exchanges and institutional coordination.
