China’s Zodiac Film ‘Horse Power’ Debuts in Shanghai with Tech Innovation

Shanghai's cultural scene witnessed a historic moment last Friday as "Horse Power," China's first zodiac-themed giant-screen film, premiered at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The production merges ancient Chinese cultural symbolism with state-of-the-art filming techniques, offering audiences an immersive exploration of equine life across global landscapes.

Produced through a collaboration between China Media Group and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the film employs high-definition dynamic cameras to capture fleeting moments of horses in motion – from Mongolian steppes to African savannas. The project represents a 15-month effort to document both domesticated and wild horse populations.

The screening venue itself marks a technological milestone as the world's first science-museum cinema equipped with an LED film screen system. This CINITY theater upgrade enables 4K/3D playback with enhanced brightness and contrast ratios, creating unprecedented visual clarity for educational content.

Cultural analysts note the film's timing during Lunar New Year preparations adds significance, as 2026 will transition from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse. The production team has announced plans for a 12-film zodiac series, with the next installment focusing on sheep mythology already in pre-production.
