China's software and information technology industry maintained robust growth through November 2025, with official data showing software-related business revenue climbing 13.3% year-on-year to 13.98 trillion yuan ($2 trillion). The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported sustained export growth of 8.1%, marking nine consecutive months of expansion.
IT services dominated the sector, accounting for 68.8% of total revenue. Cloud computing and Big Data services saw particularly strong performance, generating 1.47 trillion yuan ($210 billion) – a 12.8% increase. Integrated circuit design emerged as a high-growth segment, soaring 16.5% to 402.8 billion yuan ($57.7 billion).
Regional analysis reveals uneven development patterns, with eastern China contributing 83.4% of total revenue. The Yangtze River Delta region led growth at 14.8%, while Beijing maintained its position as the top-performing provincial-level region, followed by Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanghai.
This sustained growth underscores China's continued digital transformation and technological advancement as the nation strengthens its position in global value chains. The performance of integrated circuit design and cloud services particularly highlights strategic priorities in domestic innovation capabilities.
