China, ROK Leaders Pledge Enhanced Cooperation in Beijing Talks

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae Myung reaffirmed commitments to deepen bilateral cooperation during high-level talks in Beijing on Tuesday. The meeting underscored efforts to strengthen economic ties and regional stability amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Premier Li emphasized China's prioritization of relations with the ROK in its neighborhood diplomacy, stating, “We must uphold good-neighborliness, enhance strategic communication, and consolidate political mutual trust to ensure bilateral relations develop along the right track.” He highlighted opportunities in high-end manufacturing, AI, and new energy sectors, urging both sides to abandon “zero-sum mindsets” and expand industrial synergies.

Lee echoed the sentiment, stating the ROK’s willingness to “respect core interests and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.” Both leaders agreed to facilitate cross-investments, with Lee pledging to encourage ROK enterprises to expand operations in China and welcoming Chinese businesses in the ROK.

The discussions also addressed multilateral collaboration, with Li calling for joint efforts to uphold free trade and international fairness. Lee affirmed alignment on promoting regional peace, emphasizing shared goals in stabilizing supply chains and fostering innovation-driven growth.
