China’s Rural Revitalization 2025: Top 10 Milestones Unveiled

China Media Group (CMG) has released its annual list of the most impactful developments in rural revitalization for 2025, showcasing the nation's progress in transforming its countryside through policy innovation, ecological stewardship, and technological advancement. These achievements come as China prepares to conclude its 14th Five-Year Plan while laying foundations for long-term agricultural modernization.

Policy Foundations Strengthened

The Communist Party of China's 15th Five-Year Plan recommendations prioritize agricultural modernization, building on President Xi Jinping's ecological civilization vision that recently marked its 20th anniversary. This year's "No. 1 central document" further emphasizes rural development as a national strategic priority through 2027 and beyond.

Record Harvests and Infrastructure Gains

China achieved consecutive grain production milestones, reaching 714.875 million tonnes in 2025. Rural infrastructure saw transformative improvements with complete 5G coverage in townships and tap water access for 96% of rural households. Medical insurance now covers over 95% of village clinics.

Legal and Cultural Progress

The implementation of China's Rural Collective Economic Organizations Law established new frameworks for rural governance, while national campaigns promote cultural revitalization through literature, arts programs, and social etiquette reforms aimed at preserving rural heritage.

Sustainable Development Models

Yucun village's evolution from mining hub to eco-tourism destination exemplifies China's green transition. This model aligns with broader efforts to prevent poverty relapse, with 2025 marking the successful conclusion of the five-year post-poverty alleviation transition period.
