The Guangsha Lions solidified their position as title contenders in the 2025-26 CBA season with a commanding 96-64 victory over the Liaoning Flying Leopards in Hangzhou on Thursday. The defending champions showcased defensive brilliance, holding their opponents below 20 points in three quarters while extending their winning streak to four games.
Barry Brown led the charge with 26 points, supported by four teammates scoring double digits. Defensive standouts Sun Minghui and Lin Bing Sheng each recorded three steals, creating crucial fast-break opportunities. "Our defensive focus set the tone," said Guangsha coach Wang Bo. "Holding a strong team like Liaoning to 64 points reflects our collective discipline."
Liaoning struggled offensively, converting only 22 of 66 field goal attempts and committing 17 turnovers. Despite efforts from Fu Hao and Jaylon Brown, the Flying Leopards fell to 4-2 this season.
In other action, the Shanghai Sharks defeated the Jiangsu Dragons 84-68 behind Li Hongquan's 18-point performance. The Sharks improved to 4-2 while Jiangsu remains at the bottom of the standings with a 1-5 record.
