Macao SAR Hosts Global Forum on Civilizational Dialogue

The Macao Special Administrative Region launched its 2025 International Forum on Mutual Learning Among Civilizations on Tuesday, December 16, with global leaders and scholars gathering to discuss cross-cultural cooperation. The two-day event coincides with the 26th anniversary of Macao's return to China this month, adding symbolic weight to its theme of inclusive dialogue.

Acting Chief Executive Wong Sio Chak emphasized Macao's unique role as a cultural bridge during his opening address: "Our success in blending Chinese heritage with Portuguese influences makes us a living laboratory for civilizational exchange." The forum features 20+ keynote sessions addressing cultural preservation, digital-era diplomacy, and sustainable development models.

Notable participants include UNESCO representatives and academics from Belt and Road partner countries. Deputy Head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department Wang Gang highlighted China's commitment to "building consensus through diversity" in global governance frameworks.
