China Urges Swift Resolution in Nexperia Corporate Dispute

China has formally requested Dutch authorities to facilitate negotiations between semiconductor giant Nexperia and its Chinese parent company Wingtech, as tensions over corporate governance threaten global chip supply chains. The Ministry of Commerce confirmed on December 11, 2025, that Beijing is pushing for immediate face-to-face discussions to resolve the cross-border dispute.

Ministry spokesperson He Yadong revealed that Wingtech has extended written invitations to Nexperia's independent directors and equity custodians, urging them to visit China for critical talks on restoring operational stability. "This demonstrates China's responsible approach to maintaining semiconductor supply chain security," He stated during Thursday's press briefing.

The dispute stems from what Chinese officials describe as "inappropriate administrative intervention" by Dutch authorities in corporate affairs. Beijing maintains that the Netherlands' Ministry of Economic Affairs must take substantive measures to enable constructive dialogue between the companies.

While China has already implemented export exemptions for compliant civilian-use semiconductor products, officials emphasize that Dutch counterparts need to match these confidence-building measures. The development comes as global markets remain sensitive to disruptions in the $500 billion semiconductor industry.
