Wang Yi Highlights Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy as Guiding Force

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the pivotal role of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy in shaping China's global strategy during a symposium in Beijing on December 9, 2025. Addressing scholars and officials at the event hosted by the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Research Center, Wang described the doctrine as a "constantly developing and open Marxist theory" that remains at the forefront of international relations innovation.

Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping's leadership has driven historic achievements in China's foreign policy, including the advancement of a "community with a shared future for humanity" framework. He stressed that this ideological framework provides "scientific guidance" to address complex global challenges while supporting China's modernization goals.

The symposium coincided with the reissue of a study outline on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, which Wang urged participants to use as a tool for deepening theoretical understanding. He reaffirmed that creating a favorable international environment for Chinese modernization remains a core diplomatic mission in 2025.

Analysts observe that this renewed focus comes as China continues to expand its role in multilateral institutions and global governance reforms. The address underscores Beijing's commitment to ideological coherence in its foreign policy approach amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
