Binoche disclosed she regularly receives acupuncture treatments in Paris, calling it "one of the most effective therapies I've ever experienced." The actress also expressed admiration for qigong breathing techniques and traditional Chinese medicine's holistic philosophy.

The festival appearance comes as China-France cultural exchanges reach new heights in 2025, with bilateral cooperation agreements signed earlier this year. Binoche's participation underscores the growing international appeal of China's $12 billion film industry, which has seen 18% year-on-year growth according to 2025 industry reports.
Event organizers noted the festival has attracted record global attendance this year, with 45 countries and regions represented. The 10-day event continues through December 16, featuring 348 films from across Asia and beyond.
