Young innovators from the United States and the Chinese mainland claimed top honors at the 2025 S.-T. Yau High School Science Awards, announced during a December 7 ceremony at Beijing's Tsinghua University. The competition recognized 62 projects across six disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and economic-financial modeling.

Michael Iofin, a student at New York's Trinity School, made history by securing both the Mathematics Gold Medal and the prestigious Science Grand Award for interdisciplinary excellence. His work on advanced topological optimization models has drawn attention from academic and industry leaders alike.

From Shenzhen Middle School, Wang Ziwen earned the Noether Mathematics Prize Gold Medal for groundbreaking research in algebraic geometry. The awards highlight growing scientific collaboration between educational institutions across the Pacific, with organizers noting a 15% increase in joint U.S.-China research projects compared to 2024.
