Su Yiming Secures Back-to-Back Snowboard World Cup Wins in Beijing

Chinese Olympic champion Su Yiming claimed his second consecutive FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup victory on Saturday, thrilling home crowds in Beijing with a dramatic final-run triumph. The 21-year-old phenom overcame a last-minute challenge from Japan's Kira Kimura to finish with 181.00 points, cementing his dominance in the 2025 season.

After securing an early lead with 177.5 points from his first two runs, Su faced unexpected pressure when Kimura landed a technically demanding switch backside 1980 drunk driver grab. The Japanese athlete's final attempt briefly pushed him ahead by 0.75 points, setting the stage for a climactic showdown.

'Winning back-to-back titles today was really not easy,' Su told reporters after replicating his signature switch backside 1980 melon grab with improved execution. 'Last year I had my worst final result here – this redemption means everything.'

The victory follows Su's season-opening win in Zhangjiakou last weekend, giving China's snowboarding star a commanding 200-point lead in the FIS standings. Teammate Ge Chunyu (112 points) and Kimura (109 points) complete the current top three.

While celebrating his successful homecoming, Su emphasized his long-term focus: 'Our ultimate goal remains the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. This is just the beginning – I need to stay disciplined in daily training.'
