The 2025 Silk Road TV Community Summit commenced on December 7 in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, bringing together nearly 300 delegates from media organizations, tech firms, and cultural institutions across 20 countries and regions. Under the theme "Smart Media Empowers, Maritime Silk Road Embarks Anew," participants explored innovative approaches to international cooperation in digital-era storytelling.

Shen Haixiong of China Media Group emphasized the Belt and Road Initiative's evolution into deeper cultural connections, stating: "Guangdong's integration with BRI projects demonstrates how media can bridge civilizations through shared narratives." The summit saw the launch of multiple cross-border projects including AI-generated content initiatives and multilingual programming expansions.

International representatives like Kenya's Joseph Maina Mururi highlighted opportunities for Africa-Asia tech partnerships: "By combining China's digital expertise with Africa's dynamic markets, we can create media ecosystems that empower developing nations."

The event concluded with the "Yangjiang Initiative" advocating for green media practices and enhanced maritime cultural exchanges. Since its 2016 founding, the Silk Road TV Community has grown to include 149 member institutions from 64 countries and regions.
