Kenya Hosts Forum on Xi Jinping’s Governance Vision

Nairobi witnessed a significant exchange of ideas this week as Kenya hosted a high-level forum discussing the English edition of the fifth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China." The event, held on Monday, brought together 200 participants including policymakers, scholars, and business leaders to explore China's modernization strategies and their relevance to African development.

Co-organized by China's State Council Information Office, China International Communications Group, and the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, the forum highlighted growing Sino-Kenyan cooperation. Hassan Omar Hassan, Secretary-General of Kenya's United Democratic Alliance, praised the publication as "a template for socio-economic transformation" adaptable to national contexts worldwide.

Mo Gaoyi, Deputy Head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, emphasized the series' role in showcasing China's development path: "These volumes offer valuable insights for Global South countries pursuing modernization while preserving their unique characteristics." He reaffirmed China's commitment to strengthening Belt and Road cooperation and implementing 10 partnership actions for shared modernization with African nations.

Kenyan Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Gitau noted the forum's importance in understanding "the practical results of Chinese modernization and its global significance." Participants engaged in discussions spanning governance experiences, poverty alleviation strategies, and cultural exchange programs.

The event concluded with Chinese representatives presenting copies of the fifth volume to attendees, symbolizing ongoing intellectual collaboration between the two nations.
