Shenzhou-21 Crew Advances In-Orbit Research Amid Milestone Mission

The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has unveiled new footage of the Shenzhou-21 crew conducting cutting-edge operations aboard China's space station, showcasing the nation's growing capabilities in orbital research. As of November 30, 2025, astronauts Zhang Lu, Wu Fei, and Zhang Hongzhang continue to execute their six-month mission launched on October 31 from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

Recent activities include pioneering microgravity experiments using specialized laptops to analyze object movement in space environments. The team has also completed critical equipment maintenance and conducted routine health monitoring, with physiological data being transmitted to ground researchers in real time. A highlight of their mission occurred last week when the crew successfully executed their first full-system pressure emergency drill, simulating cabin depressurization scenarios to refine emergency protocols.

This mission marks China's seventh crewed spaceflight since 2003 and demonstrates significant progress in long-duration space habitation technologies. The current experiments could yield insights valuable for future lunar exploration programs and international space station collaborations.
