The 72nd Macao Grand Prix concluded successfully on November 16, 2025, as part of celebrations surrounding China's 15th National Games in the Macao Special Administrative Region. FIA Single-Seater Commission President Emanuele Pirro highlighted the event's unique character in an exclusive interview with CGTN Sports Scene.
"Macao offers something you can't find elsewhere – a street circuit that's remained virtually unchanged for decades," said Pirro, a five-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. The inaugural Formula 4 World Cup held during this year's event marked a new chapter in Macao's racing legacy.
Pirro emphasized the technical challenges of street racing, noting: "Every millimeter counts here. Drivers must maintain surgical precision between barriers and grandstands." Having competed nine times in Macao himself, the motorsport veteran expressed hope that future generations will continue racing through the city's iconic Guia Circuit.
The 2025 edition saw competitors from 18 countries and regions navigate the 6.2km track, blending high-speed straights with tight corners through Macao's urban landscape. Local residents and international visitors alike packed waterfront viewing areas, combining world-class motorsport with the city's distinctive cultural atmosphere.
