West China-Mayo Forum Marks Decade of Critical Care Innovation

The West China–Mayo International Forum of Critical Care Medicine 2025 commenced on November 14 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, marking its 10th anniversary as a cornerstone of global medical collaboration. Hosted in the iconic "hometown of pandas," the three-day event unites over 500 experts from the United States, Europe, and multiple Asian countries to address pressing challenges in intensive care.

Top specialists from Mayo Clinic, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Duke University led discussions on AI-driven diagnostics, next-generation treatment protocols, and cross-border research partnerships. Dr. Li Wei, a critical care director at West China Hospital, emphasized the forum's role in "bridging Eastern and Western medical practices to save lives worldwide."

With 35% of this year's presentations focusing on artificial intelligence applications, the event highlights China's growing influence in healthcare technology innovation. The forum continues through November 16, featuring workshops on emergency response strategies for climate-related health crises.
