Wang Chuqin Stages Thrilling Comeback at China’s 15th National Games

Table tennis star Wang Chuqin delivered a masterclass in resilience on November 14, 2025, overcoming Lin Gaoyuan in a six-game thriller to advance to the men's singles semifinals at China's 15th National Games in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The world No. 1 faced early pressure as both players split the first two games. Lin nearly seized control in the third game, leading 10-5, but Wang saved four consecutive game points to snatch a crucial 12-10 victory.

While Wang dominated the fourth game 11-5, Lin fought back to claim the fifth 11-7. The 25-year-old Beijing native ultimately sealed his victory with an emphatic 11-4 sixth-game performance, setting up a high-stakes semifinal clash against Grand Slam champion Fan Zhendong.

This year's National Games table tennis competition continues through November 18, showcasing China's dominance in the sport ahead of major international events.
