Five Chinese nationals were killed and eight others injured in a single-vehicle traffic accident early Friday in Bali's Buleleng Regency, according to the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar. The incident marks one of the deadliest road accidents involving foreign tourists in Indonesia this year.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred on a coastal road in northern Bali. The consulate has activated emergency protocols, coordinating with local hospitals and police to assist affected families. "We express deep condolences to the victims and are providing full support to the injured," a consulate spokesperson stated.
Bali remains a top Asian travel destination, with over 6 million visitors recorded in 2025. The tragedy highlights ongoing road safety concerns in popular tourist regions. Travelers are advised to exercise caution and review transportation safety guidelines when visiting Indonesia.
