China Urges Germany to Mediate Nexperia Semiconductor Dispute

Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao called on Germany to facilitate a resolution to the ongoing Nexperia semiconductor dispute during a video conference with German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The talks centered on addressing supply chain disruptions caused by the Dutch government’s intervention in Nexperia’s operations.

Minister Wang emphasized that the Netherlands’ ‘improper interference’ in corporate affairs has destabilized global semiconductor production, urging Berlin to encourage constructive dialogue. ‘The responsibility for resolving this issue lies squarely with the Netherlands,’ Wang stated, underscoring the need for collaborative solutions amid rising demand for chips in AI and green technology sectors.

The discussion reflects escalating tensions in global tech trade, with analysts noting potential implications for Europe-Asia economic ties. Stakeholders await further developments as Germany weighs its role in mediating the dispute.
