The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit concluded with resounding success in Zhejiang Province, uniting 1,600 delegates from 130 countries and regions to shape humanity’s digital trajectory. Under the theme “Building an Open, Cooperative, Secure, and Inclusive Digital and Intelligent Future,” the event spotlighted AI’s transformative role across industries while advocating for strengthened global collaboration.
Key outcomes included the release of two landmark reports: the China Internet Development Report 2025 and World Internet Development Report 2025. These documents revealed China accounts for 60% of global AI patents, with domestic models prioritizing real-world industrial integration. Globally, breakthroughs in multimodal AI systems and embodied intelligence for manufacturing/healthcare dominated discussions.
Kuaishou Technology President Ma Hongbin noted during a sub-forum: “AI is transitioning from technical breakthroughs to large-scale applications, driving high-quality development through industry integration.” His company’s new Kling 2.5 Turbo service, capable of producing cinematic videos through AI, exemplified this shift.
The summit’s ‘Light of Internet’ expo drew 17,000 visitors to 100+ interactive tech displays, while 24 specialized forums addressed cybersecurity, digital governance, and ethical AI frameworks. Participants emphasized the urgent need for international standards to ensure AI develops safely and equitably.
Now in its ninth year, the Wuzhen Summit continues cementing its role as a cornerstone of global digital policy dialogue, with this edition particularly highlighting Asia’s growing leadership in intelligent technology innovation.
