Guangzhou-based electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG made waves in the tech world this week by unveiling its Next-Gen IRON humanoid robot at its annual XPENG AI Day. The event, held at the company's Science Park in south China's Guangdong Province, showcased four groundbreaking 'Physical AI' products set for mass production.
The IRON robot, designed with advanced mobility and interaction capabilities, represents XPENG's ambition to bridge AI innovation with real-world applications. It was joined by three other reveals: the upgraded VLA 2.0 autonomous driving system, next-generation Robotaxi vehicles, and ARIDGE aerial mobility systems.
Company executives emphasized the strategic shift toward integrated smart ecosystems. 'Physical AI represents our vision for intelligent systems that learn, adapt, and serve across multiple environments,' said a XPENG spokesperson during the product demonstration.
The announcement comes as China's tech sector accelerates investments in AI-driven solutions. Analysts suggest these developments could reshape urban mobility and smart manufacturing across Asia, offering new opportunities for investors and tech partners.
