Chinese Ambassador Urges U.S. Firms to Deepen Ties Post-Busan Summit

Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng has called on American businesses to capitalize on renewed momentum in bilateral relations following the Busan Summit, emphasizing opportunities for economic collaboration during a virtual address to the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC).

Speaking at the USCBC's 2025 China Operations Conference, Xie highlighted the summit's role in stabilizing relations through high-level diplomacy between President Xi Jinping and U.S. leaders. "The strategic guidance from our heads of state serves as an anchor," Xie stated, urging both nations to implement consensus agreements and maintain steady progress.

The ambassador outlined three pillars for sustainable cooperation: mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win economic strategies. "When our business communities lead with pragmatism over politics, we create rising tides that lift all boats," he added, referencing recent cross-Pacific investments in green technology and supply chain resilience.

Industry analysts view Xie's appeal as timely, with U.S.-China trade volumes recovering to pre-trade war levels. The USCBC reports over 60% of member companies plan expanded operations in the Chinese mainland through 2026, particularly in renewable energy and AI sectors.
