China, Saudi Arabia Strengthen Strategic Partnership Amid High-Level Talks

China and Saudi Arabia have pledged to elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership during a landmark visit by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng to Riyadh, signaling deeper collaboration in energy, technology, and regional diplomacy.

Diplomatic Milestones

Han concluded a five-day visit on Saturday after meeting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and addressing the Future Investment Initiative conference. The discussions highlighted Saudi Arabia's endorsement of China's Global Development Initiative and its appreciation for Beijing's mediation in Middle Eastern conflicts, including the Saudi-Iran reconciliation process.

Economic Synergy

Both nations agreed to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and mining sectors. Han emphasized China's commitment to high-level opening-up following the 20th CPC Central Committee's fourth plenary session, positioning the Chinese mainland as a stable partner for Saudi Vision 2030 projects.

Four-Point Development Plan

At the FII conference, Han outlined proposals for innovation-driven growth, open cooperation, inclusive globalization, and reformed global governance. The speech underscored China's push to align Belt and Road initiatives with Saudi infrastructure ambitions while stabilizing global supply chains.

Regional Security Alignment

The Saudi leadership reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China policy and welcomed Beijing's role in Middle Eastern peace efforts. Both sides agreed to coordinate closely at multilateral forums including the UN and G20 to address geopolitical challenges.

Business leaders from both countries explored new opportunities in cross-border investments during sector-specific meetings, with Han urging enterprises to become 'bridges' for bilateral cooperation.
