The 15th National Games torch relay launched simultaneously in Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen on November 2, marking a historic collaboration between the four cities. A total of 200 torchbearers – 50 in each location – carried the flame through iconic urban landscapes, symbolizing regional unity ahead of the 2025 event.
The main launch ceremony at Shenzhen's Lianhua Mountain Park set the stage for parallel events across the Guangdong-Hong Kong SAR-Macao SAR Greater Bay Area. Organizers integrated vibrant displays of Lingnan culture into the relay routes, featuring traditional music and dance performances that engaged local residents.
Following the relay, representatives from all four cities ceremoniously returned the torch to Guangzhou. The coordinated effort highlights strengthened regional cooperation under China's Greater Bay Area development strategy, while creating public enthusiasm for the upcoming games.
Scheduled for November 9-21, 2025, the National Games will culminate with an opening ceremony at Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. This marks the first time the event will be jointly hosted by multiple cities, reflecting China's commitment to fostering cultural and economic integration through sports.
