Renmin University of China (RUC) has unveiled a groundbreaking artificial intelligence initiative designed to advance the nation's modernization goals through data-driven modeling. The 'Chinese Modernization Large Model' project, announced at the second Jiangshan Forum in Beijing, aims to translate strategic policy frameworks into measurable, technology-backed solutions.
The forum, co-hosted by RUC's National Academy of Development and Strategy and the Zhejiang Provincial Party School, brought together policymakers, academics, and industry leaders to align technological innovation with China's development roadmap. This collaboration comes as the country prepares its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), which is expected to emphasize technological self-reliance and sustainable growth.
Bridging Policy and Practice
The AI model represents a novel approach to implementing decisions from the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee. By creating dynamic simulations of economic and social development scenarios, researchers aim to help policymakers test strategies before implementation.
"This project marks a significant shift from theoretical planning to actionable, evidence-based models," explained a forum participant from RUC's economics faculty. The initiative particularly focuses on optimizing resource allocation, predicting industrial trends, and measuring progress toward long-term modernization targets.
