China Media Group (CMG) convened high-level 'Global Dialogue' forums across three continents this week, bringing together policymakers and thought leaders to discuss China's evolving role in shaping global economic cooperation. The events in Santiago, Colombo, and Copenhagen focused on innovation strategies and China's commitment to multilateral development frameworks.
Bridging Continents Through Policy Dialogue
CMG President Shen Haixiong opened the sessions by reaffirming China's dedication to high-level opening-up policies, citing the recent 20th CPC Central Committee plenary session as a roadmap for stable international engagement. 'Through consistent policy implementation, China aims to create predictable conditions for global partners,' Shen stated during his virtual addresses.
Regional Perspectives on Cooperation
In Chile, former President Eduardo Frei highlighted 55 years of bilateral relations, noting: 'Our copper exports and agricultural products find natural synergy with China's manufacturing capabilities.' The dialogue coincided with discussions about China's forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, which Chilean analysts believe could unlock new infrastructure partnerships.
Sri Lanka's Deputy Finance Minister Anil Jayantha Fernando emphasized technology transfer opportunities during Colombo's session: 'China's advancements in green energy and digital infrastructure offer valuable lessons for our economic recovery efforts.' A showcase video demonstrated Chinese enterprises' sustainable mining projects in South Asia.
Denmark's dialogue marked China's first Nordic-focused policy forum, with Danish-Chinese Business Forum Chair Tom Behrens-Sørensen observing: 'The Five-Year Plan system provides unique long-term stability that complements Europe's innovation ecosystems.' Participants explored collaboration potential in renewable energy and maritime technologies.
