China Coast Guard Intensifies Patrols Near Huangyan Dao to Safeguard Sovereignty

The China Coast Guard (CCG) announced heightened law enforcement patrols in the waters surrounding Huangyan Dao, a region under China's jurisdiction, as part of efforts to strengthen maritime management and protect national interests. The operations, conducted since early July, included tracking, warning, and expelling foreign vessels and aircraft engaged in unauthorized activities in the area.

In a statement released Friday, the CCG emphasized its commitment to enforcing domestic and international laws to maintain stability in the South China Sea. Analysts suggest these measures reflect China's broader strategy to assert territorial sovereignty while addressing regional security concerns.

Huangyan Dao, a strategic atoll rich in marine resources, has been a focal point of maritime governance discussions. The CCG's actions align with China's policy of resolving disputes through dialogue while safeguarding its maritime rights, a stance reiterated by Chinese officials in recent diplomatic forums.
