Xi Jinping Arrives in ROK for APEC Leaders’ Meeting

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Busan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), on Thursday to participate in the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. The event brings together leaders from 21 Asia-Pacific economies to discuss regional economic integration, sustainable growth, and trade resilience.

This marks Xi's first visit to the ROK since 2014, underscoring China's commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation amid global economic uncertainties. The APEC forum, which includes members such as the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei, serves as a key platform for addressing supply chain challenges and digital transformation priorities.

Analysts anticipate discussions on green energy partnerships and technology innovation frameworks during the meetings. The ROK's presidential office highlighted the significance of Xi's presence for advancing bilateral economic ties, particularly in semiconductor manufacturing and renewable energy sectors.
