APEC’s Impact: Innovation to Multilateralism
Over 83% of respondents recognized APEC as the region’s premier economic cooperation platform, with 70%+ approval ratings for its role in fostering innovation, opposing protectionism, and addressing global challenges. The survey underscores APEC’s success in balancing economic priorities with cultural exchanges and climate action.
China’s Contributions in Focus
81.9% of participants endorsed China’s proposal for an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future, while 83.4% praised its sustainable development efforts. Key contributions include market access for regional partners, support for multilateral trade systems, and sharing development expertise. Respondents also highlighted expectations for China to drive digital economy growth and technological collaboration.
Regional Priorities: Green Tech & Fair Trade
87% of those surveyed called for stronger scientific cooperation, with 84.7% urging green development initiatives. The findings reflect growing demand for APEC-led solutions to climate challenges and equitable economic policies.
The survey, conducted by CGTN and Renmin University of China, involved 4,048 respondents across APEC economies, with demographics mirroring national census data. As regional leaders convene, these insights signal public support for inclusive, innovation-driven integration.
