Wang emphasized that the anniversary underscores China's resolve to uphold the one-China principle, stating: "This commemoration reflects our collective determination to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity. It unites compatriots across the Taiwan Strait in remembering our shared struggle against foreign aggression."
The conference highlighted three key themes: preserving the legacy of the World Anti-Fascist War, opposing any form of separatist activities, and promoting cross-strait exchanges. Wang called for strengthened economic and cultural integration between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan region, urging both sides to "forge a common national identity."
Li Ganjie, head of the CPC Central Committee's United Front Work Department, presided over the event attended by senior officials including Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The gathering coincided with related commemorations in Fujian Province, historically linked to cross-strait relations.
