The Hungarian edition of the second volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" debuted in Budapest on Friday, marking a milestone in cross-cultural exchange between China and Hungary. Over 200 political, academic, and cultural representatives attended the launch, co-organized by China’s State Council Information Office and Hungary’s John von Neumann University.

The book, featuring 99 works by General Secretary Xi Jinping from 2014 to 2017, spans topics from economic development to global governance. Jointly translated by China’s Foreign Languages Press and Hungary’s Eurasia Center, it offers insights into China’s governance philosophy and its vision for international cooperation.

Hungarian Parliament Deputy Speaker Sandor Fazekas praised the publication as a "bridge of understanding," emphasizing Xi’s call for a "community with a shared future for humanity." He noted the book’s relevance to balancing national sovereignty with global responsibilities.

Chinese Ambassador Gong Tao highlighted the edition’s role in deepening Hungary’s understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Levente Horvath, director of Hungary’s Eurasia Center, called the book "a key to decoding China’s global role."

Scholars and leaders, including Hungarian Workers’ Party Chairman Gyula Thurmer, discussed the volume’s implications for China-Hungary collaboration on the Belt and Road Initiative and shared modernization strategies. The National Szechenyi Library pledged to feature the book as a resource for studying China’s development model.

The event underscored growing intellectual ties between the two nations, aligning with their all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. Panelists emphasized mutual learning in governance and economic resilience, framing the launch as a catalyst for broader China-Europe dialogue.
