China Unveils 90GHz Oscilloscope, Redefining Tech Standards

China's semiconductor industry reached a historic milestone this week with the debut of a domestically developed 90GHz ultra-high-speed real-time oscilloscope. Unveiled at the WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Expo 2025 in Shenzhen, this cutting-edge instrument is poised to transform global electronics research and manufacturing.

Dubbed the "engineer's eye," oscilloscopes convert electrical signals into visual waveforms, enabling breakthroughs in fields from 5G networks to quantum computing. The new 90GHz model – representing a 50% frequency increase over previous models – underwent rigorous testing by institutions including tech giant Huawei before its official launch.

"This achievement stems from 15 years of cross-disciplinary collaboration," explained Liu Sang, CEO of developer Shenzhen Longsight Technologies. "We've innovated at every level – from foundational materials to AI-powered algorithms."

The three-day expo, spanning 60,000 square meters with 600 exhibitors, highlighted China's growing role in shaping global tech standards. Industry analysts note the oscilloscope's release aligns with accelerated R&D investment in the Greater Bay Area, where Shenzhen serves as a manufacturing and innovation hub.

With applications ranging from aerospace systems to next-gen chip design, this advancement strengthens China's position in high-end scientific instrumentation while offering new opportunities for international tech partnerships.
