AI and Robotics Propel China’s Services Trade to New Heights

China's international services trade is experiencing a transformative surge, driven by cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. At the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing, innovators unveiled groundbreaking technologies poised to reshape industries and consumer habits alike.

Among the highlights were AI-powered smart glasses developed by China Telecom. Using multimodal recognition, the glasses analyze food items in real time, providing calorie estimates and personalized dietary recommendations based on users' health profiles. "AI is unlocking new growth drivers for service consumption," said Wu Hainan, a company representative, during an interview with China Media Group.

Industrial applications are equally compelling. At Beijing's Humanoid Robotics Data Training Center, engineers are refining robots capable of mastering delicate tasks like opening refrigerator doors—a feat requiring nuanced force application. "Training robots involves thousands of repetitions to perfect such movements," explained Yuan Jun, a center employee, as a robot successfully demonstrated the action.

These innovations underscore China's expanding role in high-value services trade, blending consumer-centric solutions with industrial automation to meet global demand. Analysts predict sustained growth as AI integration accelerates across sectors.
