Residents of Xide County in southwest China's Sichuan Province gained access to high-quality medical expertise this week as part of a collaborative health initiative organized by China Media Group (CMG) and West China Hospital. From September 5 to 7, six cardiovascular specialists from the renowned hospital conducted free clinics and health education sessions across rural communities in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
The program, titled "Lend a Hand, Build a Health Shield Together," saw medical teams visit Xide People's Hospital, schools, and welfare centers. Services included cardiovascular disease screenings, preventive care demonstrations, and tailored consultations for elderly residents with limited mobility. Doctors emphasized early intervention strategies and distributed educational materials about managing chronic conditions.
This marks CMG's latest effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Xide County, following last year's initiative that provided household support facilities to nearly 100 families. The county's mountainous terrain and economic challenges have historically limited access to specialized medical services, making such targeted programs particularly impactful.
