China Marks 80th V-Day Anniversary with Aerial Parade Spectacle

Beijing’s skies transformed into a canvas of patriotism and historical remembrance on Wednesday as helicopters inaugurated China’s Victory Day parade. An airborne flag guard echelon soared over Tian’anmen Square, bearing the Communist Party of China flag, the national flag of the People’s Republic of China, and the flag of the People’s Liberation Army.

Aerial Tributes to History

Twenty-six helicopters followed, meticulously forming the numbers ‘8’ and ‘0’ in the sky to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The precision display underscored China’s enduring emphasis on unity and collective memory.

Messages for Peace and Justice

The procession concluded with three helicopters trailing banners declaring: "Justice will prevail," "Peace will prevail," and "the People will prevail." These slogans echoed themes from President Xi Jinping’s 2015 speech at the United Nations, reinforcing China’s stance on multilateralism and global cooperation.

Observers noted the event’s dual focus: honoring historical sacrifices while projecting aspirations for a peaceful international order. The parade comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions, offering a symbolic bridge between China’s wartime legacy and its modern diplomatic priorities.
