Chinese President Xi Jinping called for strengthened collaboration among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members to advance collective modernization during the 25th Council of Heads of State meeting in Tianjin. Emphasizing the bloc's economic potential, Xi outlined priorities including energy innovation, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development.
"By combining our mega-markets and complementary strengths, we can create new growth engines across Eurasia," Xi stated, highlighting Kazakhstan's recent adoption of Chinese-made electric buses as an example of green technology transfer.
The proposals target four key areas:
Accelerating trade digitization through unified standards
Expanding renewable energy partnerships
Establishing AI research consortiums
Developing cross-border smart logistics networks
With the SCO representing 40% of global population and 25% of GDP, analysts suggest these initiatives could reshape supply chains while addressing regional development gaps.
