Armenian PM Attends SCO Summit 2025 in Tianjin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Tianjin on Sunday ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, set to convene from August 31 to September 1. The event, hosted in the northern Chinese port city, will bring together leaders from across Asia to discuss regional security, economic collaboration, and multilateral partnerships.

The SCO, a key platform for Eurasian diplomacy, continues to expand its influence as a counterbalance to Western-led alliances. Armenia's participation underscores its growing engagement with Asian economic networks, offering potential opportunities for investors eyeing emerging markets.

Tianjin, a hub for international trade and innovation, provides a symbolic backdrop for discussions on cross-border infrastructure projects and digital economy initiatives. Analysts suggest the summit may address pressing issues such as energy security and supply chain resilience amid global uncertainties.

This marks Armenia's second SCO summit attendance since becoming a dialogue partner in 2023, reflecting Yerevan's strategic pivot toward diversifying its international partnerships. The outcomes could shape trade routes connecting Central Asia to the Caucasus and beyond.
