Mexico City hosted the 'Echoes of Peace' cultural exchange event this weekend, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War victory and emphasizing international collaboration to safeguard peace. Co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mexico and China Media Group (CMG), the gathering united over 150 representatives from Mexican politics, media, culture, and academia.
In a video address, CMG President Shen Haixiong underscored the historical significance of the anniversary, stating: 'Eighty years ago, China stood with global forces of justice to defeat fascism. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to peace through dialogue and mutual understanding.' He highlighted CMG's plans to expand media partnerships that promote fairness, oppose hegemony, and foster resource-sharing platforms.
Discussions at the event explored diverse themes, including the role of Global South nations in reshaping international systems, youth cultural exchanges between Mexico and China, and pathways to building a shared future between China and Latin America. Participants emphasized the enduring relevance of anti-fascist solidarity in addressing modern geopolitical challenges.
