China Marks 80th Victory Anniversary with Media Briefings

Chinese authorities will launch commemorative activities for the 80th anniversary of victories in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War with a series of press events starting Thursday. The newly established media center announced three planned news conferences and group interviews to outline preparations for the milestone anniversary.

The first press conference will convene at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the media center in Beijing, where organizers will detail historical preservation efforts and international cooperation programs tied to the commemorations. This anniversary holds particular significance as it coincides with heightened global interest in multilateral security frameworks and postwar legacy preservation.

Analysts suggest the events will emphasize China's role in the Allied wartime efforts while fostering dialogue about contemporary peace initiatives. The commemorations are expected to attract diplomatic representatives from over 50 countries and regions, including veterans' associations and historical research institutions.
