Xi Jinping’s Human Rights Vision Reaches Uzbekistan with Tashkent Book Launch

The Uzbek-language edition of Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights was unveiled in Tashkent on Tuesday, marking a milestone in cross-cultural dialogue between China and Central Asia. The event drew nearly 300 attendees, including government representatives, scholars, and diplomats, signaling growing intellectual collaboration between the two nations.

Bridging Perspectives Through Literature

Jiang Jianguo, a senior official from the China Society for Human Rights Studies, emphasized the book's role as "a window for Uzbekistan's people to understand China's human rights philosophy." Akmal Saidov, head of Uzbekistan's National Center for Human Rights, praised the launch as a catalyst for strengthening bilateral cultural and rights-based cooperation.

Deepening Strategic Ties

Chinese Ambassador Yu Jun highlighted how the publication aligns with broader efforts to enhance the China-Uzbekistan comprehensive strategic partnership. The book – the 13th foreign-language edition – was jointly produced by China's Foreign Languages Press and an Uzbek publisher, underscoring institutional collaboration.

Following the unveiling ceremony, scholars from both countries participated in a seminar exploring contemporary human rights challenges, fostering academic exchange between the Eurasian neighbors.
