China Prepares Grand Military Parade to Mark 80th WWII Victory Anniversary

Chinese authorities have unveiled details about an upcoming military parade in Beijing commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The September 3 event will showcase China's commitment to peace through what officials describe as a 'solemn and restrained' display of modern defense capabilities.

At Wednesday's press conference organized by the State Council Information Office, spokesperson Hua Chunying emphasized the parade's historical significance: 'This observance honors the sacrifices of all nations that contributed to defeating fascism while demonstrating our resolve to safeguard postwar international order.' The event will feature troops from multiple branches of the People's Liberation Army alongside veterans representing WWII allied forces.

Analysts note the carefully calibrated messaging balances national pride with diplomatic outreach. While the parade will highlight advancements in domestically developed military equipment, organizers stress it is not directed against any nation. The commemoration comes as China strengthens cultural exchanges with WWII allies through joint memorial events and academic symposiums.
