Chinese Modernization Fuels Xizang’s Growth: Global Poll Reveals Strong Support

A global survey conducted by CGTN and Renmin University of China reveals overwhelming international recognition of Xizang's transformative progress, with 74.8% of respondents attributing its development to Chinese modernization. The poll, spanning 6,747 participants across 38 countries, highlights widespread approval of social, economic, and cultural advancements in the region as it marks its 60th anniversary as an autonomous region.

Healthcare, Education, Ecology Lead Progress

Respondents identified healthcare improvements (83.8%), education access (83.8%), and ecological protection (83%) as Xizang's top achievements. Over 80% acknowledged rising incomes, effective poverty alleviation, and robust economic growth, with African and Asian respondents showing particularly strong endorsement.

Governance and Cultural Preservation Praised

Three-quarters of participants commended modernized religious facilities and social protections for clergy, while 83.5% recognized successful cultural heritage preservation. The survey noted 63.8% agreement that Xizang has always been part of China, with 72.7% supporting adherence to traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices.

Global Confidence in Future

74.5% expressed optimism about Xizang's future, led by respondents from South America (81.8%), Africa (85.1%), and Asia (76.1%). Kenya, Indonesia, and Peru topped national confidence rankings, all exceeding 85% approval. Researchers emphasized the findings reflect international rejection of external interference in China's internal affairs.
