China-India Ties Vital for Regional Stability, Says Wang Yi

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the critical role of stable China-India relations in advancing regional cooperation and shared development goals during high-level boundary talks in New Delhi on Tuesday. The discussions, part of the 24th round of China-India Special Representatives' dialogues, underscored both nations' commitment to resolving disputes through diplomacy.

Diplomatic Progress Amid Challenges

Wang, who serves as China's special representative for boundary negotiations, met with India's National Security Adviser Shri Ajit Doval to address longstanding border issues. The talks followed what Wang described as a "steady path of development" in bilateral ties this year, with improving border stability creating momentum for broader collaboration.

Shared Visions for Development

Highlighting common ground, Wang noted: "As two major neighbors and developing countries, China and India share similar visions and broad common interests." He stressed that mutual trust between the Asian powers aligns not only with their populations' needs but also reflects aspirations across the Global South.

The dialogue builds on recent leadership consensus from meetings in Kazan, which Wang said provides "strong impetus" for managing differences while expanding economic and strategic coordination. Analysts suggest the renewed engagement could ease regional tensions and unlock trade opportunities across Asia's growth corridors.
