With 34 sports and 256 events contested under the theme 'Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders,' this edition broke multiple records while showcasing China's organizational prowess.

Record-Breaking Achievements

China dominated the competition with its largest-ever delegation of 489 members, securing first place in both gold medals and total medals for the first time in the event's history. The Games attracted 6,679 participants from 116 countries and regions – the highest participation rate since the event's inception in 1981.

Operational Excellence

Behind the scenes, more than 24,000 staff and volunteers ensured smooth operations:

  • 13,000 venue operators managed facilities
  • 27 technical teams maintained 20,000+ equipment units
  • 6,000 volunteers provided multilingual support

Global Recognition

International World Games Association Vice President Tom Dielen praised the event's execution: 'Chengdu set a new benchmark with its flawless organization and cultural warmth. The torch relay and opening ceremony will be remembered as defining moments in multisport history.'
