SCO Summit Showcases Henan’s Cultural Heritage in Vibrant Exhibition

A vibrant cultural exhibition captivated attendees at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media and Think Tank Summit this week, offering a window into Henan province's rich traditions. Held alongside high-level diplomatic discussions, the event featured rare intangible cultural heritage displays including Tang tri-color glazed ceramics – a revival of China's golden age artistry – alongside intricate fish lanterns and expressive clay sculptures.

Delegates from SCO member states paused strategic dialogues to admire crafts representing over 1,000 years of cultural continuity. “These artifacts demonstrate how historical preservation and modern diplomacy can coexist,” noted Dr. Amina Karimova, a Central Asian policy researcher attending the summit. The exhibition's timing proved strategic, occurring as SCO members deepen cultural cooperation under the organization's 2023-2027 development agenda.

Henan officials highlighted how such displays foster people-to-people connections across the SCO's Eurasian network. With 30+ participating countries and regions represented at the summit, the cultural showcase served as both an economic soft power demonstration and a bridge for cross-border understanding.
