Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised China's technological infrastructure as a "miracle" during his keynote address at the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing, emphasizing the country's pivotal role in shaping global artificial intelligence (AI) development.
"The supply chain of China is a miracle. It is the largest and most complex in the world, built not just on labor but on deep technology, AI, and software," Huang told attendees, highlighting China's unique capacity to manage sophisticated systems serving billions of people.
Huang, who has visited China multiple times this year, underscored the interconnected nature of global tech ecosystems. "We rely on suppliers worldwide to build complex products," he said, referencing Nvidia's $4 trillion market valuation achieved last week. "Supply chains are about connection – they require collaboration across borders."
While acknowledging growing U.S.-China tech sector tensions, Huang maintained that Chinese researchers and enterprises remain crucial partners. "China has great researchers perfectly prepared for this AI moment," he noted, pointing to the country's strong foundation in computer science and mathematics.
The CEO framed AI development as humanity's next technological frontier, stating: "The last decade prepared us for today. Now, AI can reason, think, and understand information." He emphasized responsible innovation, citing cybersecurity and environmental monitoring as key safeguards.
Industry analysts suggest Huang's comments reflect both China's manufacturing sophistication and the tech sector's delicate balancing act amid geopolitical challenges. The expo has drawn over 50,000 participants from 55 countries and regions, showcasing next-generation supply chain solutions.
